Summer learning activities for students in grades 1-5 are below. 

There are 2 copies of the log. One is an editable Word file that you can customize, and the second is a PDF file in landscape format.

Choose the format that works best for you and your child.


Read a minimum of five books and list the titles of every book you read on the “Summer Reading Log”.

  • Scholastic Books has a great tool, that lets you look up levels, genres, series or authors.
  • Check out the virtual bookshelves below which showcase award winning books in the Prouty Library.
  • Use the book lists linked below to help gather more ideas.

Whatever you do, READ, READ, READ, and please bring your completed reading log to school on the first day.
