This is the required Summer Reading/Assignment for all Upper School Students who are NOT enrolled in an AP English Class.
Throughout this year you will be challenged to read for pleasure on a regular basis. To help you prepare for this we are asking that you spend the summer getting to know yourself as a reader. You are expected to read at least three books of your choice, in your choice of modality/format, in any genre that interests you, and meets your skills as a reader while introducing you to new concepts/ideas. The purpose is for you to experience joy in reading, and only you can define what that looks like for you. Only through active inquiry and honest reflection about your reading can you truly get to know yourself.

AP Calculus students have NO REQUIRED summer assignment this year.
Hi Bancroft Calculus Students,
We know that the summer is meant for making money and having fun but we wanted to give you some suggestions for problems to practice if you are nervous about Calculus next year. The following is a list of resources, practice problems, summer review packets from other schools, videos, etc. to guide your review. You are NOT expected to have everything memorized by the start of the school year. The goal of the material is to get you thinking about next year, not to overwhelm or stress you out. If you have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to reach out!
Have a great summer!

Summer assignments help alleviate the pressure during the school year of producing the many quality pieces needed for a successful portfolio. There are 3 assignment categories: (1) Observational Drawings, (2) Projects, (3) Sketchbook Assignments. Completing more of these pieces than required will only put you that much further ahead when school starts. If you have your own ideas that are better, please use those.
